2d/1n Turtle Island
Selingan Island is most famously known as Pulau Penyu (Turtle Island in local language). Located approximately 55 minutes away from Sandakan, this is among the famous destination for visitors to Sabah. There are approximately 25 rooms within this island and it is almost fully booked daily and prebooking sometimes are needed at least 6 to 8 months in advance. The lack of rooms contributes to the difficulty of bookings availability. Apart from being a good place to see turtles, this island has a very nice beach for visitors to enjoy. The rooms come in a choices for attached bathroom or airconditioned room depending on availability. The most common flight to take is the daily MAS KK-SDK MH2042 ETA 0815 hours.
Day 1
Transfer to jetty for boat ride to Selingan Turtle Islands Park . The journey to Island will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Upon arrival, register at Turtle Island Parks HQ and check into chalet. After lunch at cafeteria, free at own leisure e.g swimming or snorkeling. After dinner, wait for rangers call to observe turtle laying eggs. Transfer the eggs to the hatchery and if there are young turtle hatchlings, an opportunity to observe the release of baby turtles to the open sea. Overnight at chalet (Common or Attached Bathroom).

Day 2
0700 hours depart island to Sandakan. After breakfast, proceed in vehicle to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. At this center, observe man’s closest relative “the Orang Utan” being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. Witness the feeding of the Orang Utan at the feeding platform. 1100 hours return to Sandakan drive up hill to the Puh Jih Syh Chinese Buddhist Temple, which offers a panoramic view of the Sandakan Bay. After Lunch, transfer to airport for your flight or to your hotel.

KK-SDK Flight MH2042 (ETA 0815 hours) and MH2709 (ETD 1415hours) prefered via MAS Airlines. MH2065 (ETD 1735hours) optional. Attached bath or air conditioned rooms are subjects to availability.
